A 15 cm thick concrete slab is ideal. Otherwise, concrete pads measuring 50x50x50 cm under each post are required. The shelter is fixed via high-strength mechanical anchors on steel plates.
For a floor area of less than 20 m² (i.e. approximately an 8m long shelter), a simple Prior Declaration of Works (DP) in town hall is enough. Beyond that, a permit may be necessary. We can provide the plans for your file.
Yes, like any wood exposed to UV without surface chemical treatment, the Thermowood will take on a shade uniform silver gray after 6 to 12 months. This in no way alters its structural resistance and gives it a much appreciated architectural appearance.
The average delay is 8 to 10 weeks after validation quote and colors. The shelter is delivered as a kit on a pallet, ready to assemble. We also offer an installation service throughout France.
