Heat treatment alters the properties of the timber without an additional surface treatment. Maintenance should still be planned according to site exposure, climate and use.

A 15 cm thick concrete slab is ideal. Otherwise, concrete pads measuring 50x50x50 cm under each post are required. The shelter is fixed via high-strength mechanical anchors on steel plates.
In France, a floor area below 20 m² (approximately an 8 m shelter) often requires a déclaration préalable de travaux rather than a full permit. Requirements vary with local planning rules and site status; larger projects may require planning permission. We can provide drawings for your application.
Yes. Like any timber exposed to UV, Thermowood gradually develops a uniform silver-grey patina after approximately 6 to 12 months. This natural colour change does not affect its structural performance and gives the shelter a consistent architectural appearance.
The typical lead time is 8 to 10 weeks after approval of the quotation and colour selection. The shelter is delivered as a palletised kit, ready for assembly. An installation service is also available throughout France.
